Do I really need Adobe?

Short answer? No.

But there is a reason so many people have Adobe and love using it so much.

With Adobe creative cloud you have exces to some of the most used programs in the business like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After effects, Premier Pro and many more.

What does each of these programs do?

  • Photoshop does what the name suggest. It helps you edit your photo’s. Adobe Lightroom can also help with light settings for the photo’s. These two programs work great together.
  • InDesign is for making posters, books, flyers, and almost any publications that are printed.
  • Illustrator is perfect for making Illustrations, infographic and logo’s of all sorts. But also to change colors of logo’s is needed. Here is a tutorial on how to do that.
  • After effects work to animate that illustration you just made in Illustrator.
  • Premier Pro is great for video editing. I edit my tutorials always in Premier.

Tutorials

I will be honest the Adobe programs are not always easy to master. But if you do know the basics of one program then you kind of know all of them. They are not extremely hard but watching a few tutorials can’t hurt anyone.

On tutsplus.com there are so many free tutorials you can follow to master all these programs that does not cost you anything.

On the Adobe website are also many tutorials for each of there programs.

How to make a pretty teabox

The place that I work they have free coffee and tea like most places. But they only have fruity flavoured thee or english breakfast tea. Which is a little boring. So I often take my own tea bags to work that I like a lot more. Then I also wanted a cute little box to keep my tea bags in.

Step 1

I used an old creme jar that would fit a few tea bags. I started with sanding the jar a little

Step 2

Then I mixed a few nice colours and painted the jar.

Step 3

With a sharpie I wrote tea in dutch on it.

Some varnish and some Pickwick tea bags in it and you’re done.

How to make an easy spraypaint stencil

airbrush logo in black with textile paint on the back of a T-shirt.

A quick and easy tutorial on how to make a stencil for you spraypaint or airbrush project that won’t fall apart after the first use.

It is not always easy to make a stencil for spray paint or for an airbrush. The cardboard can be to thick which makes it hard to cut or the cardboard is to thin and falls apart after one spraypaint sesion. I use this to put a logo on the bag of T-shirts with my airbrush.

You can also use this stencil for normal paint by stippling the paint on.

apothecary cabin tutorial

apothecary briefcase for witches and wizards tutorial so you can easy make it yourself.

How did I make it?

  • I made this by painting my brothers old play toolbox black.
  • I then spent some time finding odd looking bottles, cutlery, candles, knives, glasses, tea cups, chains and nuts. Some of those things I had lying around but I did not have enough my self.
  • So I went to a second hand store to find some more. I looked around the kitchen things and the vases.
  • Then I puzzled until every inch of the box was filled with something interesting.
  • When you think you are done make sure that not everything will fall out when you open and close it.

Why you need to make this?

I made this cabinet for an impostor roll I had for the scouts. So I took a long black coat and made this to go with it.

I loved making this. It gave me something to do during the covid pandemic and I loved to puzzle all the pieces together and decorate them. I gave my mind something to be occupied with. Specially during the corona pandemic because at some point I felt really lazy and unmotivated to do anything creative. So doing this really help spark some interest in my art and crafts projects again.

How can I use this?

A very simple tutorial on how I made this apothecary cabinet that can be used for different costumes for witches, wizards, cosplay, scary people, doctors or any other caracter you can think of. I used this for an impostor roll. I wore a long black coat almost to the floor and black boots. This made me look like a shady person standing in the woods. When someone asked for something I had small bundle of lavender to give to them.

Something that would have fit with the really well was black, rotten teeth.

Quickest pot painting tutorial on the internet.

I had a simple white tissue dispenser that I did not like the look of. To make it look better I gave it a quick coat of paint. Now I do not have to throw this out and buy a new dispenser. I put toilet paper in it. Nice and zero wast I thought.
