We had to stand in the middle of a dark room. There were pictures everywhere that we thought was the moon. There were different moons on each photo, the craters were in a different place. So it couldn’t be a moon at all. our guide started to tell his story. He said they were all pancakes instead of the moon.
I think it’s brilliant that someone came up with the idea of photographing something as simple as a pancake so that it looks like something completely different. The pancakes were placed on a bowl or a sphere to simulate the curve of the moon. And it was photographed just next to the window to also simulate the reflection of light, just like the real moon.
In the first few weeks of our first year, we got the task to explore Breda. And make a 2D design of 30cmx30cm about it.
So I took a few photo’s of the lovely art that you can find in Breda.
While I went through the city I noticed that the city was quite clean for a city of this size. But it was mostly clean in the parts that people see. When I went to the parts where people live and you only go if you need to be there it is less clean.
After that, I found a site which showed soil quality in the city. I found out that the ground that our school is on is potentially serious. I can hear you wonder what that really means. (I still do not know this.) To find an answer I send an e-mail to the municipality which sends me a file with information about the property. Unfortunately, it did not really help. So I worked with what I had and made the following illustration.
